Ban the Celebration of Symbols of Terrorism in Canada

When Terror Is Celebrated in Canada, Every Canadian Is at Risk: Join Hands with CNCH to Stand Against It

Canada is a nation of peace, safety, and mutual respect. Yet we are increasingly witnessing public displays that celebrate violence, promote symbols of terror, and make ordinary Canadians feel afraid in their own communities.

No family should feel unsafe on our streets. No senior should feel intimidated. No child should grow up believing that hate and violence are acceptable forms of expression.

We support freedom of speech and peaceful protest, but glorifying terrorism is not free expression. It threatens human dignity, public safety, and the very foundations of our democracy.

We call on all Canadians including the Government of Canada and Parliament to:

1.      Ban the public celebration, promotion, or glorification of terrorism and mass violence, with no exceptions for any ideology, nationality, religion, or political cause.

2.      Ensure demonstrations respect public safety and essential access and consistently enforce noise and public-order bylaws so that intimidation and harassment have no place in our streets.

3.      Strengthen the Criminal Code to clearly identify and prosecute threats, symbols, or actions that endorse terrorism or violence.

4.      Apply these protections equally to everyone, safeguarding genuine peaceful expression while preventing fear and disruption in public spaces.

Canada must remain a country where differences are expressed peacefully -never through praise of terror or threats against our communities.

By signing, you are taking a stand for your neighbours, for future generations, and for the shared Canadian values that keep us safe. Together, we can ensure that terror has no voice, no platform, and no place in our country, not now, not ever.

Stand for safety. Stand for peace. Stand for Canada.
