Rakesh Goenka

Board Member

Rakesh Goenka is a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient and a long-standing Sewadar at Hindu Sabha Temple, where he served from 1986–1996 and rejoined in 2023. During his tenure as Sewadar, he played a key role in constructing a 34,000 sq. ft. greenfield temple on 25 acres of land, helping to raise approximately $4 million for the project. He currently serves as President of Amity Foundation, the charitable arm of RANA Canada, focused on supporting international students—particularly those of Rajasthani and North Indian heritage. Under his leadership, Amity has mentored over 50 students, with Rakesh and his wife Renu personally guiding many toward success in Canada. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Amity facilitated grocery aid for students and distributed oxygen concentrators across Rajasthan, Bihar, and Delhi. Rakesh served as President of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (board member from 1996–2002) in addition to serving as President of the Calcutta Metropolitan Jaycees from 1974–1981.
